Enough with the crazy!

It isn't even Black Friday yet, and I've already had my fair share of ULTA shopping crazies. Last night, this woman comes in ten minutes before we close demanding a "makeup artist." Well. We don't have any of those on staff, so you get me. Who is trained on all the makeup lines, but I'm not a licensed cosmetologist or esthetician. Whatever. She tells me horror stories about the last time she was in and how this girl told her Bare Escentuals doesn't have a shade for her (which was a lie, but whatever) and how this girl had terrible skin and horrible makeup. I know the girl she was talking about, and she has a serious skin condition that she's been dealing with for years. Now she looks great because she's on acutane. But for a while, she had a really bad acne problem. I didn't appreciate the bash on my friend who has an unfortunate overproduction of sebum (the oil in your skin). But fine. I let it go.

Then she grills me about everything Bare Escentuals does, and demands to know if I wear it, and yells "don't lie." I don't. I tell people I don't because they don't match my skin. Which is true. She tells me that we have the same skin color and she can't wear Bare Escentuals. We don't have the same skin color, she's much more gold than I am. But I humor her. It's now 5 minutes before we close, and I don't do full makeovers when we're closing, but this woman was such a nutjob that I HAD to do one, because she kept yelling at me when I didn't do the other things. I didn't put mineral veil on her and she flipped her lid! Then she grilled this poor girl I was training (IT WAS HER FIRST FREAKING DAY) if she wears Bare Escentuals. Then crazy starts talking about herself in the third person, and my poor trainee was so lost and had no idea what she was talking about.

Now, I'm a good salesperson. I'm a really good salesperson. It also doesn't hurt that I like the products that I sell and that they are very nice. But I didn't want to do my pitch, I just wanted to clean my damn store and be on with it! And THEN this woman finally leaves, and says to me "Oh don't worry... I'm coming back" like it was a threat. Am I supposed to be frightened?

I'm already wishing for Christmas to be over. Is that normal? Between my two jobs... I've started to hate Christmas. I just want everything to go away for a whiel. I'm not looking forward to Black Friday. Luckily, I have off from the radio station... but I have to work at ULTA at 5am. Not happiness.

Edit: I changed "talking about herself in first person" to third person. Because first person makes no sense.

Twilighting and Silver Jewelry (spoilers, fyi)

I finally saw Twilight, so among the bajillion of other book lovers, I'm blogging about my disappointment and things I actually enjoyed about it.

I knew off the bat that the effects were going to be cheesy, so I didn't let it bother me. Instead, Sara and I laughed at them the entire time. It actually made it fun, inappropriately laughing while trying not to get our heads snapped by the 12-yr old vampiras.

Things that did upset me?
* Tyler didn't exist... like at all. He almost kills Bella with the car, and then disappears. I love the Tyler vs. Mike tension! It's hilarious!
* Bella wore her jacket in Port Angeles at the restaurant. I know that's picky, but it upset me.
* Bella also DOESN'T FIND THE BOOK STORE IN PORT ANGELES, DAMNIT.
* Taylor Lautner? He's a white kid. A white kid who went tanning to look Native American.
* Sparkly Edward looked more like Emma Frost in diamond form than I ever really wanted. (oh yeah, i'm an X-Men nerd...ps)
* Jasper... doesn't have his power... and is either really constipated or has a gun held to his back the entire time. And his hair? *almost* as bad as Carlisle's.
* Carlisle's hair... was really funny. He walked on screen, and I burst out laughing.
* It seemed like the director, the actors, everyone involved thought that this movie was a big joke. And then realized after they shot it that it was going to make a lot of money. And they tried to fix it. And they failed.

Things I loved:
* Charlie & Bella's relationship. It was perfect.
* Charlie in general. That actor was perfect.
* Edward & Bella's relationship I thought was spot on, and I thought Robert Pattinson's acting was great, despite reviews that he was "wooden." I didn't think he was wooden at all.
* Angela & Eric. Awesome. Just...awesome.
* Vampire baseball pretty much lived up to my expectations.
* The set-up for the remaining story.

Things I wanted:
* More Alice and more Esme.
* I'm curious to see how they do Breaking Dawn at all... or if they somehow make it so that Breaking Dawn never happens, which would piss off every Twilight fan ever.
* I'm curious how New Moon goes...

The rest of my weekend was fairly uneventful except for the Silpada party I went to. Silpada is like Tupperware, except it's silver jewelry and SUPER PRETTY. And I may or may not have booked my own party... for January... which becklette better come to!

Snow comes up, Charlie Brown. It comes up!

It's snowing. Before Thanksgiving. This I am so not okay with. So far... my day has been a big bowl of poo. I woke up late...and I woke up to about an inch of snow and counting. I go out to my car about 10 minutes earlier than normal, turn on my car to warm it up, and then start dusting the snow off of my car with my broom. After about 10 or so minutes (not sure exactly how long, my cell phone aka my clock is inside the car. with my purse.) I finish sweeping snow off of my car, and I'm all ready to drive off.

Except my car is locked.

Apparently my car (which is new to me as of the summer) automatically locks when you turn it on. Something I was apparently unaware of until this very moment. I actually thought it automatically locked when you put it in gear. Nope. When you turn it on. I start walking to the future mother-in-law's house, which is really not all that far away. She has a spare key to my house, but not to the deadbolt. So I take her car and drive to the school Gene teaches at, get his house keys, drop the van back off at the future mother-in-law's and go on my merry way. THANK GOD the car was still there and nothing was taken. Like my purse. And my cell phone. And my GPS.

As I'm driving to work listening to my morning show (Preston & Steve...they're hilarious), I didn't want to take 95 to work. But because I had to take Gene's keys back to him, taking any other way besides 95 would have been out of the way. So of course, as soon as I get close to 95...there's an accident with injuries. So I get stuck there. Then as soon as I get onto 95, it's jammed. I just can't win! I was almost an hour late for work. Luckily, I haven't had any time to leave for lunch all this week except for yesterday (I've eaten, don't worry, I just haven't left nor stopped working) so I have some time built up that I can still leave at a reasonable hour today.

I really hope today gets better. This morning was just riduculous. At least my car was warm...because my feet were slightly FREEZING from having to be outside in the snow for a while. Maybe I should have worn my boots instead of sneakers that get wet easily...

Firsts

I was tagged by Maureen from Penny, the Baby Girl... so here goes:

1. Who was your FIRST prom date? Stein Erik. He was Norweigan... and he was the brother of a girl in my class in high school... I was a freshman. We started dating on April Fools Day (which should have given me some clue...) and he got bored three months later. He really is a good guy though... I don't hold anything against him. I guess he was my "bad boy" that I dated... if you consider Gregorian chant listening, sword wielding nerds "bad boys" He does have a bunch of tattoos and piercings now. Still really attractive.

2. Do you still talk to your FIRST love? No. Not even a little. I tried to extend the olive branch, and was ignored. So if the jerk wants to continue to think that I'm a Cheater McCheaterson, then he can be my guest. He did run into my mother at Red Lobster over the summer... so I know she gave him the "Oh, she's doing GREAT" speech, which makes me feel better, however shallow that may be.

3. What was your FIRST alcoholic drink? a wine cooler.. I was 13. (ETA: Actually. I liked wine when I was a toddler, and one holiday the family left me in a room of half drunk wine glasses. They came back, and they were empty. So...)

4. What was your FIRST job? Um. Technically I was a mommy's little helper when I was 12 for my neighbors, the Snootys. They had a little girl who was 3 and twins. My job was to play with the 3 year old, and I got paid like $5. I also had to clean this woman's house. Because she was too lazy.

5. What was your FIRST car? 1989 white Cavalier station wagon. Oh yeah. That car was so loud...

6. Who was the FIRST person to text you today? Jenny Z. She probably texted me yesterday, but I got it this morning. She sent me this text that was "you hear a song on the radio, and think of me...what song is it?" And clearly... the answer is Popsicle by New Kids on the Block. The first time around. Her and I are big NKOTB nerds. I have been since I was 6.

7. Who is the FIRST person you thought of this morning? Gene, because he stole my lunch!!!

8. Who was your FIRST grade teacher? Mrs. Eisley. I liked her because I thought she looked like Snow White.

9. Where did you go on your FIRST ride on an airplane? Pittsburgh. It was a 47 minute flight when I was a senior in high school to the Forensics Speech & Debate Nationals. I think I placed like 60 or something out of a few hundred.

10. Who was your FIRST best friend and are you still friends with them? Cara was my first best friend, but I don't remember her because I moved from Jersey when I was only just 5. My next best friend was Rachael... and I miss her every single day. She moved to Florida when we were 13... but we still kept in touch. We've been sucking at that lately, but every time we see each other it's like she never left.

11. What was your FIRST sport played? Cheerleading. Yes it counts. And it was the only sport I played. And I did competitive cheerleading, too.

12. Where was your FIRST sleep over? My cousin Linsey's house.

13. Who was the FIRST person you talked to today? Gene.

14. Whose wedding were you in the FIRST time? My Aunt Laura and Uncle Jim. I started out as a flower girl, but they cancelled their wedding... and by the time they actually got married, I was a junior bridesmaid. Still the same dress, though... so it became a tea-length dress instead of a floor length dress.

15. What was the FIRST thing you did this morning? hit the snooze button... a lot...

16. What was the FIRST concert you ever went to? TECHNICALLY my first concert was Sarah Brightman. Not very glamorous, I know. So what do I tell people was my first concert? Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. I saw them a few months later with my parents. They were pretty awesome, however high they were (CSNY, not my parents)

17. FIRST tattoo or piercing? My ears when I was 6. No tattoos yet.

18. FIRST foreign country you went to? You mean the ONLY foreign country I've been to? Canada. Ireland is coming...hopefully... stupid Colleen moving to Ireland.

19. What was your FIRST run in with the law? Besides hiding in closets in college because I was illegally drinking? I don't think anything. Except that time that my mom got pulled over for speeding on the way to take me for my permit test. Whoops. And there was that one time when a few girls (who hated me) in my neighborhood broke into a house that was just built and wrote my name on the wall to try to get me into trouble. Luckily I don't have white blonde hair, and someone say them breaking into the house. I was never questioned. Oh, and then there was the time when we had to have police detail protect me on the school yard when I was in 8th grade because one of the girls I went to gradeschool with and all of her friends surrounded me during recess, and threatened my life. Gotta love Catholic school.

20. When was your FIRST detention? It doesn't count! The entire class got detention when I was in 7th grade because they were being loud. I wasn't one of those kids because I was too scared of my teachers.

21. What was the FIRST state you lived in? Pennsylvania.

22. Who was the FIRST person to break your heart? Jeff. He was an emotionally abusive jerkoff.

23. Who was your FIRST roommate? Her name was Jeannine. She was a nice enough girl, but we had almost nothing in common. I moved in with Colleen three months later.

24. Where did you go on your FIRST limo ride? I don't think I've ever been in a limo, actually. I was supposed to get one for prom my senior year, but my wonderful "friends" planned it without me in mind, despite the fact that it was my idea. Hence why I'm a bit bitter about high school...

So now! I tag... becklette, Di, Joanie, and Tess.

Big Texas

I don't know if you're familiar with the Big Texas, but it might be the greatest thing to ever be in vending machines ever. We used to have them (and maybe they still do, I don't know) in the vending machine at my high school... and I'm pretty sure I had one every day. They are lovely cinnamon buns with icing drizzled on top.. and they might be laced with crack/cocaine because I can't get enough of them. When I got to work this morning, I discovered that my oatmeal stash in my desk was empty. So then I was forced to eat poptarts for breakfast from the vending machine. but lo, and behold...instead of poptarts there, staring back at me, was a BIG TEXAS. It's like high school on a plate. If high school was cinnamon-y and delicious.

It's funny how little things take you back. Who knew that a Big Texas would get me feeling all warm and fuzzy about a time in my life that I'd like to get away from. For grade school... it would be Orbitz. Remember those drinks? They had those little balls floating in them? I'd never drink one now because it would gross me out, but I LOVED those things when I was in 7th and 8th grade. Orbitz and Bonne Bell chapstick. I had a ton of those... but I had this one friend who used to convince me to give her everything I bought. She ended up with clothes I bought, lipgloss I bought, and hairbrushes. Man, was I a dumb kid. That girl probably owes me close to $200 worth of stuff in the 6 years that we were friends. Now she doesn't talk to me because I am living with Gene and we're not married, so I'm a terrible terrible sinner who cannot be "saved."

Of A Revolution

The concert was GREAT. Although, remind me to not go to concerts at U of D in the future. I forgot how much I don't like drunk underage college kids. And saying that makes me feel so old... I mean, I'm only out of college going on 3 years... but I just really don't like those stereotypical people. And University of Delaware people are just terrible with that! U D girls? are a little slutty. And by a little, I mean really. These girls were wearing clothing that barely qualifies as a dress. It just looked like a really really tight super long T-shirt to me. With high heels. And far too much makeup. My favorite drunken idiot parts? When they decided to go crowd surfing... and one girl pretty much did a backflip in the air because people tossed her... when they started passing the chairs around on the floor (where I was sitting...yay work for awesome seats!), and when they started standing on the chairs to see better.

Meeting the band was awesome. They're a really great, chill bunch of guys. They were very relaxed and a bit nervous for the show, which I thought was adorable. I officially have a giant crush on Jerry... who plays EVERY INSTRUMENT EVER. He played the guitar, drums, and saxophone... and man does he make playing the sax really sexy. The rest of the guys were great too, especially Richard (the Asian one who plays lead guitar). He was actually walking around the stadium before the show started...and nobody knew who he was, except for the group of us who met him. So I went up and asked him if he knew where their merch was, because my cousin who went with me wanted to buy a T-shirt. It would have been nice if they had let us buy merch before the show started... because then she could have had the band sign her shirt. Oh well.

I think one of the coolest parts of the show was when they had a three-way dueling drum solo. Three guys playing the drums at the same time. Incredibly hard, and incredibly amazing. If you ever have a chance to see these guys in concert, I highly recommend it. They were really great live. Also, they were trying this new thing where they taped the concert and put it on a USB drive that was actually a bracelet. They also had their new album on it also. I seriously considered getting one, but I thought it would just be spending money for the sake of spending money, so I didn't get it. Although I'm pretty sure my brother would have loved that for Christmas.

Hopefully I'll be able to add pictures later. My camera died before I could take some myself, so I'm relying on other people to email me pictures. I want to see if I can get the picture of me and my cousin with the band, maybe a promo shot of the band, and get like a shadow box for myself and one for my cousin, because we both had our tickets signed by the guys. I think that would be nice to keep it like that... that way it won't get torn or anything.

Holiday Crazytown

I really do like working in retail...except during the holidays. And what's funny is that both retail jobs I've had (ULTA and The Limited) I've started during holiday season. The first day of work for The Limited? Black Friday. My first day of work for ULTA? End of October.. and the following week we had the company holiday meeting. Well, this year, holiday started this Sunday. Now, ULTA has some pretty nice deals during holiday (the best being the free bathrobe with fragrance. We get it every year. And they're always very nice).

Not only was this weekend the kick-off of holiday in the new store since remodel, but we also had our new district manager (our other one quit or something, which was fine because she was kind of insane) and the VP of the company in the store, Jodi. Jodi is a BFD... and she's very intimidating. Lovely woman, but very intimidating. We went out to dinner with Jodi last year, all of us prestige girls, and had a wonderful time. Jodi and I had many an intelligent conversation about the difference between theatre makeup and regular cosmetics, and why I got into ULTA, and this whole philosophical debate about actors. But because Jodi was coming? The store needed to be IMMACULATE. And it was close, but not quite.

The thing I hate most about ULTA holiday? The 5fer table. We always have "5 for $5" or "5 for $10" tables... and people go apeshit over this stuff. I had one woman yesterday who wanted ten each of everything on the 5 for $5 table. I spent 85% of my day filling that damn table. Because of the remodel our stock rooms are kind of non-existant, so we are trying to figure out where things are going to go. Some genius yesterday decided to store a glass shelf in the stock room. This said shelf? Broken... as in jagged glass laying open in the stock room for people (read: me) to cut themselves on. I now have this (very small) scratch on the palm of my hand because I didn't see the glass until after I cut myself on it. It didn't really hurt, but it's in such an awkward place that it is uncomfortable.

Holiday crazy of the week: This woman got all uppity with one of our Benefit girls because the line was long. And she was getting all in her face. One of our makeup artists from Urban Decay came over to see if the Benefit girl was okay... and crazy woman looked at Urban Decay and said "Excuse me... do you work for ULTA? No. You don't. You work for Urban Decay. Go away. Get away from me." Then she goes after a manager and DEMANDS to know the full name of the person from Urban Decay and starts ranting and raving. People are flipping crazy. I'm sure I'm going to have many more Holiday Crazy of the Weeks. There's always at least 5 per weekend.

The Perks

When people from home and college found out that I now work in radio, I got a lot of "Hey, can you get my concert tickets?" Sadly, no. I usually can't even get them for me. Not free anyway. I did get to see Jenny Lewis for free, though..but it was a local show and it was a show that was not in high demand. Coldplay? Ain't happening. Not that I'd want to see them anyway, because I'm not at all a fan.

Yesterday, the programming director asked me what I was doing tomorrow (well, today now) to which I responded Um. Hanging out with my mom? Because I am. Saturday morning I'm getting a massage from my mom's friend Tina, and I'm not driving to Pottstown at 8am on a Saturday. So I'm going to Pottstown tonight instead. The conversation went as follows:

PD: So you don't want to see a concert tomorrow?
Me: Which one?
PD: OAR. You don't want tickets to that for tomorrow?
Me: Okay.
PD: And backstage passes?
Me: Okay!

So I asked my friend Sara (who, right now, is lame) to go with me...but she told me this morning that she couldn't. I thought of asking Deb to go, but since one of OAR's biggest songs is "Crazy Game of Poker" I thought it may be too much for her, so I didn't ask her. Then I had to put the word out to like a bajillion people because everyone I asked couldn't make it to Newark by 6:30. Finally my cousin Gabby got back to me after I changed my facebook status to "the first person to call/email me gets to see OAR and meet the band" so she's coming with me. I have so many people who are OAR fans that couldn't go. I have the cousin who is 9 months pregnant and due in about a week... I have the cousin who lives in Baltimore but has to work at 6am tomorrow... i have the best friend who lives in PA but didn't get back to me fast enough. It's crazytown. So now I am getting the "Ooh do you still have the ticket" emails and text messages. Sorry kids, you snooze... you lose.

And becklette...I know I didn't say anything about it to you, but I figured with all the car-ness that getting to Newark DE by 6:30 without me driving to get you would be near impossible, so I didn't mention it.

ETA: My cousin? The 9-month pregnant one? Had her baby Friday night. So she was a bit busy to go with me. They had a little girl, Juliet Catherine, and she's beautiful. She has two hot parents, so that kid is going to be a knockout.

The Chocolate Cake Man

I've been a bit absent and distracted lately. A very good friend of mine that I've played poker with almost every weekend for the past two years passed away last week. I can't remember if I've talked about my poker shenanigans, but Gene and I are poker players... and we have a group of about 20+ that we get together with and play at various friends' houses on Saturday nights. We spend holidays with these people, and in a weird way we're a (very dysfunctional) family. Gene and I are the youngest in our group by about 10 years... and these people really helped me a lot when I moved to Delaware and had literally no friends. All of my friends were still in college, in NYC, or in LA... so I was very alone in this tiny state. Most of our poker locations are in Jersey and around an hour and a half away, which I know is crazy, but I really love these people and would do a lot for them.

Gene and I carpooled with our friend Rich (whom we all called the chocolate cake man) and his fiancee Deb, because they were from Delaware as well. We'd take turns driving, we'd talk about baseball, and we got very close with these two over the past two years. Spending four hours every weekend in a car will do that. The four of us actually dressed as a group for Halloween last year. Rich was Fred Flintstone. He had a lot going for him right now. He had three beautiful little boys. Gene and I recently went to go see Clone Wars with Rich and his boys. The movie was GOD AWFUL, but we had fun because of the company. We were able to laugh at how BAD it was together. I got roped into it because I thought we were going to see the Counting Crows. Clone Wars is not the same as the Counting Crows (In my defense, that same day, the Counting Crows and Maroon 5 were playing in Camden... and Rich was a HUGE Maroon 5 fan. And Gene and I LURVE the Counting Crows. And we had talked about going together. It's a simple mistake, right?). Rich and Deb had just gotten engaged.. and they recently set a date. December 5th. And Rich had just bought Deb tickets for the final game at Texas Stadium in Dallas to see The Cowboys. They're both Cowboys fans. You know that he was a good friend if Gene and I, rabid Eagles fans, can spend a lot of time with a Cowboys fan. Who was a Mets fan to boot.

I really miss him. And I'm sorry that this post is a bit sad, but it's helping me to talk about it. It's really funny, because if someone had said to me a month ago that Rich was going to have a heart attack, I would be sad. I had no idea it would affect me like this. It took every ounce of strength I had in me on Thursday when Deb called me to not vomit. I went to work on Friday... and was a complete zombie. I couldn't cover the receptionist desk because I was afraid I was going to break down and just sob. I've been a lot better lately... although I did have a lapse at lunch. When my grandmother died, I often still talked to her. But I couldn't still talk to Rich. I did for the first time today. I also erased him from my cell phone, which was really hard. I know it's really stupid that it got me so upset, but it did. It was as if by erasing him from my phone, I would forget him.

On Saturday, all of our group (the Quorum as we call ourselves) got together to have an honorary game. Rich would have been pissed if something he did caused us not to play--pissed at himself for messing up everyone's evening. So we dealt him in, we all said some really nice stuff (and told some funny funny stories.. like the time he got arrested and the group had to bail him out of jail for running a stop sign...and having an outstanding speeding ticket he forgot existed). Rich won the tournament. Instead of giving money for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.. we collected all the money and bought flowers for the service, which is tomorrow. I called the florist a few hours ago, and we are getting a lot of really nice flowers for the guy. I feel like there should be something else that I should do, but I can't imagine what.

Rich was a guy who when you first met him, he bugged the hell out of you. He was stubborn, and abrasive, and loud. And he loved you with everything that he knew how. Once you got through that bold personality, he was such a teddy bear...who gave the best hugs. He'd do whatever you needed to do. When Gene and I almost got one singular World Series ticket the day that we had Eagles tickets, Rich offered to drive to Philly (from Maryland) pick me up from the stadium, and take me home. We didn't ask. He and Deb called Gene and I "The Kids." And the guy was always good for a really nice chocolate cake. I could really use a piece now...

Nothing like being all alone when everything happens...

The Carmen Sandiego/Waldo costumes were a big hit this Halloween... but I lost the costume contest. I lost the "best female" to a Navy Pin-up Girl...but I was clearly sexier than her as an international genius thief. Whatevs. My friend Lea took the "overall best costume" because, well, it was. Her costumes are always amazing. It actually took me a full 5 minutes to figure out who she was. Her husband looked pretty good also, but Lea always looks amazing. She cheats though. She's a high school drama teacher, and she borrows costumes from the cage... and uses prosthetics every year. Girl is talented with makeup.

Saturday I was home all by my lonesome, and had quite the evening. It all started out with me getting quite angry at my computer. Everytime I opened internet explorer (and I have the new version. I don't remember if that's 7 or 8. Whatever the new one with the tabs is) it would open about 60 new tabs... not to any particular webpage, in fact, they were all blank. But I couldn't even do an internet search for what the problem was! I ended up having to do a system restore. Annoying.

About an hour later, I see red flashing lights outside my house.. and lo and behold, there is a firetruck (sans sirens) parked in front of my house. I'm too scared to go outside, for fear of people thinking I'm nosey. I am. But I don't need my neighbors knowing that I'm nosey. The firemen get out of the truck, go next door, and about 30 minutes later, they leave, waving to my next door neighbor. I've never met my next door neighbor.. she just moved in.. so I have no idea why there was a firetruck there. No hoses ever left the truck, though, and if it was a fire you'd think that they'd get the people on either side out of their houses (I have a townhouse).

A few hours after that (it's now 2AM) I'm still by myself, watching reruns of CSI and Without a Trace, when I hear SCREAMING outside. I mute the TV and I hear (quite clearly) GET MY F*ING SISTER OUT OF YOUR F*ING CAR! GET MY F*ING SISTER OUT OF YOUR F*ING CAR!!! There were about 10 people directly across the street from my house (still about 100 ft away) having a fist fight on their front lawn in my neighborhood. From what I could gather from through my window, slightly overweight guy in a white shirt was yelling at a red pickup truck, his sister gets out of the pickup truck and starts shoving him. He shoves back, the boyfriend comes up and starts punching the brother. Meanwhile, the sister is still inbetween them. The boyfriend throws her to the ground (classy, right?) and he and the brother start punching each other in the face for a good 10 minutes. I ended up calling the cops... but by the time they drove by, the fight had broken up and the red pickup truck drove away. Slightly overweight angry (drunk?) guy was still yelling outside though.

I've lived in a few scary places, this isn't one of them, but that's the first time I've ever called the police on my neighbors. I probably should have some other times... like when I lived in the hispanic ghetto of Allentown and there were drug deals across the street and gunshots were a norm. Gotta love cheap housing when you're in college.
